There are 3 knobs as most Strats have. However these are not the regular Strat controls.  The top one is the same as all Strats and that is a volume control.  However, lodged in the body of this baby is a Fender active circuit board the same as the ones found on the Eric Clapton Custom Shop model.  The 2 tone controls function differently than those found on a regular USA Stratocaster; one provides a special active 25dB midrange boost tone control to give this guitar the extra “meat” which is something you might expect from a Humbucker pickup.

In addition, the second tone knob functions as a master tone control, which can smoothly go from bright and glossy to dark and smoky by rolling off the highs!  It can either cut the high end like a regular tone control or it can cut the bass to bring out more quack and brightness in your tone. 

In addition to that there is an on/off mini switch which controls the bridge pickup affording you 2 additional pickup configurations.  With the switch in the “on” position, you can add the bridge pickup with the neck (5 way switch position 5 = neck & bridge), or you can have all 3 pickups at once (5 way switch position 4 = neck, middle & bridge together).  With the switch in the “off” position, you have your traditional 5 way switch combinations.
