Due to the unusual circumstances surrounding it we’re making it available for sale at a great price. Here’s the scoop…
This guitar belonged to a repeat client for whom we’ve built, customized and refinished several guitars for. He sent this guitar in to us for a pickup replacement, custom circuitry and neck alteration. Here's what we did:
We replaced the middle pickup with a new Lace Holy Grail HG-1500 to compliment the Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge position, and a Seymour Duncan SHR-1N Hot Rails in the neck position. Really great tones are achieved with this pickup combo!
The Custom Circuitry was created by "TOTO" and includes: 1 volume and 1 tone push/pull control pots to change the phase; 5 mini switches (2 DPDT for the bridge and neck pickups respectively which allow for series, split coil, and parallel switching for each pickup; and 3 on-off switches allowing for the independent operation of each pickup). As you can imagine, this affords the player a myriad of different tones and pickup combinations (at least a couple of dozen that are easily discernable!).
We also shaved and refinished the neck and it is lightning fast with great low action (since the frets are in great shape, they needed no work).
During the process of the rebuild, he asked if we would make him a personalized custom guitar instead and would trade this one in for it along with additional cash. Since he had already left a deposit for the work, and being a long time client, we agreed. We are now making this killer axe available to you. This is an extremely versitile instrument. With all of its different sounds and pickup configurations, this guitar will take some getting use to in order for the player to become familiar with the various switching combinations and the different sounds they produce.
This guitar would best be classified as a "Phil Wayne Exclusive Series" instrument that would normally sell in the $3000-$3500 neighborhood. But since there is some very minimal fretware and this guitar is our "deal of the month", we’re offering it for the discounted blowout price of $2295.
