Hot to the touch and Ablaze when played!
Besides her active EMG 81 and 85 pickups, the EXP internal circuit board (expand to peak controller unit) is a built-in "Cure All" for tone junkies. First of all, this multi tasking unit features a push/pull (circuit on/circuit off) potentiometer sending the unit to a bypass mode when you pull up on your knob. When in the down position, the knob functions as a Tone Expander. In the center (knob at about 5), it is a Flat Boost (no EQ change in your tone, but adds lots of Sustain, and Harmonic Boost). As you turn your knob up, you also increase the Midrange in your sound. However, if you turn the knob in the other direction, you boost the High end of your tone (like and adjustable Bright Switch). In addition to this, the EMG pickup blender pot enables you to blend the pickups together in degrees, or use them individually. The Gladiator affords you lots of versatility as well as Hot Scorching Sound!
The premium Ash Body is inlaid with custom Gold Leaf graphics over a transparent Flip-Flop undercoat which changes color (from purple to blue to green as the guitar is viewed from different angles). This surrounds a Midnight Black strip in the area of the Floyd Rose bridge and the pickups. The sides are Marbleized over the natural wood and the wood grain shows through beautifully on the back. The entire body is encased in a chemically cured glaze top coat that is Super Scratch Resistant. This finish looks like, and is as hard as glass. Besides its stunning looks, the glaze adds increased resonance, great harmonics, and she sustains forever. The back tremolo and control cover plates and the neck plate all have custom graphics and are over-glazed as well.
The 24 fret ash neck plays like butter. The action is low, and the back of the neck also has a gorgeous Flip-Flop finish. The Headstock is black with marbleized sides, gold leaf graphic under the logo, and is finished with a glaze topcoat.
