Phil Wayne Custom "Torrent"
The Phil Wayne “Torrent” is a unique, magnificent looking axe with versatile KILLER sound. The fully shielded body and pickguard along with its active electronics eliminate all the unwanted and annoying hum that is normally associated with passive pickups. The neck is perfect and smooth; the frets are medium jumbo.
She’s built like a tank and plays like a dream with a great feel and wonderful action. The woods are of premium quality and have been seasoned and the harmonics this baby produces are truly spectacular. GREAT sound...like PERFECT...
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Model Name - Torrent
Finish – White/Vanilla/Black Marbleized body w/ matching Pickguard and Headstock
Body - Maple with a Fully Shielded Body Cavity
Neck - Hard Rock Northern Maple w/med jumbo frets

Custom Circuitry by “Toto” (includes an active EXPANDER circuit board).
Control #1 - The Volume Control is also a Push/Pull pot that reverses the phase of the Bridge pickup when in the up position.
Control #2 - The Tone Control is a concentric potentiometer that acts as 2 separate tone controls which are both independent and communal. Each control has its own separate capacitor (.022uf & .047uf) providing a much wider range of brighter and darker tone variations.
Control #3 - The EXPANDER is a combined equalizer circuit on a Push/Pull pot that has three unique functions in one unit. First is the frequency expander, second is a mid-band peak control and third is a flat booster.
Features include:
-Knob at 0; leads your pickup to sound weightier and rich by boosting the gain in a mid-range and reduce the low and high frequency range
-Knob at 5; leads your pickup to give the harmonics a boost. It is similar to ordinary flat booster.
-Knob at 10; gives your pickup crystal-clear and vivid tone by expanding the frequency range. It has a powerful bass and treble by boosting a high and low frequency range while mid range is 'V' shaped. This is very similar to the mod used by such legends as Eric Clapton.
Just push down the knob to bypass the EXPANDER.
- 3 Mini Switches:
-Mini switch #1 is a DPTT switch that controls the Bridge pickup and has three functions:
The “up” position eliminates one of the coils (single coil mode).
The “middle” position shuts off the pickup.
The “down” position is puts both coils in series with one another (full humbucker mode).
-Mini Switch #2 is a DPDT switch that controls the middle pickup and has the same 3 functions as does Switch #1 for the bridge.
-Mini Switch #3 is a DPDT switch that has 3 functions:
The “up” position activates the pickup.
The “middle” position shuts off the pickup.
The “down” position reverses the phase.
