Phil Wayne Custom "TEMPEST"
We recently re-acquisitioned this beauty as a trade-in from a customer for which we had designed and customized the body with an elite Phil Wayne finish and graphic artwork along with enhanced circuitry by "Toto" last year.
This handcrafted guitar finish was recreated off of an original Peavy platform has a nice traditional strat sound with nice action. The custom circuitry by "Toto" gives you almost twice as many pickup combinations. Besides the 5 way switch, it’s got push/pull volume and tone controls. The Push/Pull Volume control turns on the bridge pickup in the 'up' position allowing you to have bridge & neck together, or all 3 pickups on at one time. The Push/Pull Tone control allows you to change the phase of the middle pickup giving you additional tone variations.
The gorgeous guitar is in stellar shape and has seen very limited playing time. The only flaw is a couple of small scratches on the chrome on one of the tuning pegs on the back of the headstock. Other than that, she’s stellar.
The ‘Lightning Storm at Sea’ graphic fades into a marble-like abstract finish along the edges of the body and, of course, is all done by hand.
